Ray has been serving Preston County and the surrounding area as a State Farm Insurance Agent for over 37 years. Ray has been and remains involved in the community he serves and enjoys supporting local youth league sports teams, the county's academic and athletic programs, and many more local non-profit organizations. He is past chairman and current member of the Vandalia Health Preston Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, member of The Rotary Club of Kingwood, member of the Preston County Chamber of Commerce and Past General Chairman of the Preston County Buckwheat Festival. Ray and his office were honored by being named the Preston County Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Year in 2021 along with the Preston County News and Journal's 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025 Reader's Choice Awards as Preston County's Top Insurance Agency. Ray and his wife Laurie were both born and raised in WV and raised their two boys, T.J. and Cody, in Preston County. They have three grandsons, Jayden, Tristan and Luca, and a granddaughter, Tatum Rae. Ray and Laurie enjoy spending time with their families, boating, traveling, off-road buggy riding, and WVU sports. Ray graduated from Fairmont State College in 1983 with a B.S. in Business Administration. On March 1, 1989, he opened his State Farm Insurance Agency to serve the insurance needs of Preston County and the surrounding area while residing in Kingwood.
